Baby Boomers balancing family caregiving responsibilities with paid employment are being treated unfairly by their employers. Known as Family Responsibility Discrimination, or FRD, employer biases cause untenable conditions for workers that care for their family members with disabilities. Employer bias forces workers to risk losing their reputation as trusted employee or abandon their caregiving duties. WE need legal solutions to protect workers with caregiving responsibilities from FRD in the workplace (Williams, Devaux, Petrac, and Feinberg, 2012).
